Publisher's Synopsis

'The Tender Barbarian' is a series of texts that on one hand is an homage to graphic artist and erstwhile flatmate Vladimír Boudník, who committed suicide in late 1968 a few months after the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia, and on the other a somewhat fictionalized account of their life during the 1950s in Prague's Liben district, with avant-garde poet Egon Bondy acting as Boudník's foil.
