Publisher's Synopsis
As one of the UK's largest dendrochronology (tree ring dating) projects to date, the Tilley Timber Project ran from 2015 to 2018 and entailed detailed surveys of 19 buildings in this well-preserved but largely-overlooked hamlet in North Shropshire. This book provides a detailed account of the project, including descriptions of each of the surveyed buildings and information on timber framing techniques, carpenters' marks and the other research techniques used, such as geophysical survey and LiDAR.
