Publisher's Synopsis

Pakistan being a tropical country provides optimal climatic conditions for growth and multiplication of ticks (Durrani et al 2008). Ticks fauna of Pakistan are rich in number regarding its genera and species (lqbal et al., 1971; Siddiqi and Jan, 1986; Khan et al., 2001; Shah et al., 2004; Kakarsulemankhel, 2010). The information regarding tick infestations specific to poultry, in Pothwar region, is scarce. Therefore, it is important to monitor the natural tick burden in different season and also the current management status existing in poultry farms of Pothwar region. This work may provide sufficient basis for the effective tick control programs in order to enhance the well being and productivity in poultry to save the farmers from economic losses.
