Excerpt from The Visitations of the County of Somerset, in the Years 1531 and 1573: Together With Additional Pedigrees, Chiefly From the Visitation of 1591
Besides the mss. Mentioned above and marked Sims has also indexed B. M. Add. Ms. Which, on p. 219 of his Manual, he describes as containing pedigrees from the Visitation of Somerset in 1573.
Of the above mss., the only original one outside the College of Arms is in the British Museum and is called Harl. Ms. 1141. This ms. Has already been edited by Dr. Colby, for the Harleian Society (vol. Xi), and it is constantly cited in this book as 1623, that being the date of this Visitation.
