Publisher's Synopsis
Job Opportunities Bulwell in Nottingham was set up in 1982 as a project offering training to young people with special training needs. In May 1993 it was forced to close, when funding from the local TEC was not renewed. By researching the experiences of the trainees who had to be transferred to other training providers, the authors identify a number of areas where young people with special training needs are being denied access and support.;They put forward a model for training provision and a series of recommendations for relatively simple and inexpensive ways in which the needs of young people may be met more effectively. In addition, they call for changes in YT structures and funding mechanisms to enable young people with special needs to receive appropriate training and to develop their full potential.
