Torn to Rags is a story that came to her as a nightmare and that she has turned into a story of faith, fear, and hope in a world that seems against it all. Told through the first person point of view from Rags, the main character, readers can see the fear and pain within and how faith pays off. Street Runners is another story born from a nightmare she had. This one centers on the life and death of Talahkey an alien; while she is on her home planet, struggling against the bad things that go on in life when nearly alone. The third and final story, Mark and the Elk came from hunting stories that Beth's classmates in High School told to each other about hunting.
