This book aims to develop an understanding of the transport mechanisms in mammals and flowering plants. It includes a detailed study of the structure and function of the heart, kidney and liver in mammals. Control of water content and pH is examined, as well as the importance of homeostasis in mammals and the use of negative feedback mechanisms.
