Publisher's Synopsis
The Pauline texts examined against the background of the Old Testament Jewish tradition show that the uniqueness and unity of God for Paul are primarily an eschatological promise that still needs to be finally realized. That means: Pauline "monotheism" is to be understood as essentially dynamic, eschatological and process-oriented. This applies above all to the relationship of one God to the gods, powers and lords, but to a certain extent also to his relationship to Christ.
