Publisher's Synopsis

In 2043 the NCSU Physics gets a grant to do a study on Thermonuclear Electric capabilities relating to volcanic activity. Not sure why but they got but, accepting the grant, a team travels to a new volcano-like island created off the southern coast of California. Samples of the rock specimens brought back to the lab display an unusual characteristic - they hop. . "Wow this is a real big f------ deal." - was the consensus of the team. Experimentation lead to a useful structure that was very ridge but still maintained the anti-gravity characteristic. The resulting secret formula that lead to a very profitable company with unlimited fund for research. Many wild theories emerged about how the "hopping" rocks At a secrete port on the west coast they began to assemble their base to be used on the Island. The first floating platform was only about an acre and with help from, now Lieutenant Captain Boyle's, this went smoothly. Another idea was to use gravity as an assist in inter-planetary communications. What if gravity could be used as a carrier. Computer simulation ( on big Al ) shows that it will work. The gravity modulation project, called Hello, is on started. The idea is to send coded nanotechnology along with modulated gravity with instruction to build a transponder. Testing on Mars provided some good results but conditions were not quite right. What was needs is a planet with atmosphere. but solid core with high gravity. Such a planet was found and communications established but with strange and dangerous consequences. This short story is purely fiction. Any science facts presented here are merely fiction and as a consequence, however close to the truth they may seem, is purely fictional.
