Most of us study the war from the viewpoint of General Eisenhower or President Roosevelt. Each of these stories helps to complete the quilt of the American experience known as World War II. The only way to truly honor Americaas veterans is by remembering what they have done to preserve the ideals of this nation. These stories are an attempt to fulfill the call of Abraham Lincoln, ato care for him who shall have borne the battle.a
