Having put his pot-smoking days behind him, Adam Myers has become a celebrated comic book writer after creating a popular but controversial, joint-smoking superhero called Weed-Man. Rescued from an attempted kidnapping by a top secret British security organisation, Appendix 9, he is astonished to learn that he possesses the same superpowers as his comic book creation, and that his memory was wiped by the organisation seven years earlier to protect his identity. Appendix 9 now needs his help to defeat a mysterious and powerful new villain. With this in mind, Adam trains to become the unlikely real-life superhero: Weed-Man.
