Not illustrated. 1917 edition. Excerpt: ... CHAPTER XVIII. Our Lord taught as one with authority; because he had overcome the world--that is, the lust of the flesh. For the same reason ho said, "I am the resurrection and the life," and "he that believeth in me shall never die." He had overcome the belief of pleasure in matter; the thought of the orgasm of the sex act was an offense to his holy thought and pure state of consciousness. He had overcome the belief of life in matter, hence he said, "I am the ressurection and the life;" he had overcome that state of consciousness wherein the mind interprets the senses of the sensual lobes of the brain and the senses of the sex organs into consciousness. He had overcome that quality of mind whose color is red and black. White was the symbol of his state of thought; hence he said, "I am in the world, but not of the world." That is he was in the flesh, but not of the flesh, matter did not enter the consciousness of his thought. His thoughts were entirely spiritual. The "babbler" of the sex bram did not enter his consciousness; hence he was above diseases and death in thought, and he healed the sick and raised the dead. Disease is within the sex mind. It is within the senses of the sex organs and the sensual lobes of the brain. It is of the carnal mind, and this carnal mind is the sex senses of the generative organs and the lust senses of the sensual lobes of the brain. This is the serpent or "babbler" that is continuously talking to every human being. It creates all the confusion, strife, sorrow and diseases of the race.
