Palenville occupies a delightful location at the foot of the Kaaterskill Clove, down which there is a movement of air which is very refreshing on hot days. The Clove itself is full of points of interest in the way of cliffs and chasms, cascades and waterfalls, places of outlook, etc. It has been for years the resort of famous artists who have created a school of American art by their faithful rendering of American scenery and the scenery of the Catskills, has become widely known through their works, not alone in this country, but in Europe also. This is mentioned to show the scenic advantages of Palenville which have been endorsed by these men best fitted to appreciate its beauties.
