Publisher's Synopsis
The Lucerne dissertation offers a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of whistleblowing. The thesis examines the extent to which whistleblowing is worth protecting and how legitimisation could be achieved. A new legal definition is developed on the basis of selected attempts at definition by domestic and foreign authors, essential pro and con arguments are contrasted and the (criminal) legal implications de lege lata are pointed out. Finally, the author considers the legitimisation efforts in the EU and creates his own solution approaches for Switzerland.
