Camp life, the expectations and daily life - the journey of the Volunteer First Light Artillery Volunteer Battalion of Ravenna Ohio 1861-1865. William Henry Spafford and the Boys of Battery A train at Camp Chase under Captain Cotter and ultimately get arms and proceed to Louisville and the South as part of the Western Campaign of Major General McCook. They endure the Battle of Shiloh at Pittsburg Landing before Spafford is injured while on picket duty and enters military hospitals prior to discharge.
