Publisher's Synopsis
Feature-length TV drama documenting the rise to fame of 1980s pop icon Boy George. The film follows the teenage George O'Dowd (Douglas Booth) as he moves to London, takes up residency in a squat, and sets about carving a name for himself. With his distinctive looks and fashion statements, he quickly becomes a fixture at London's fashionable Blitz club, rubbing shoulders with the leaders of the 'New Romantic' movement, before branching out on his own and achieving worldwide success with his band Culture Club. Fame, however, comes at a price, and four years later Boy George finds himself reaping a media whirlwind, as tales of his drug addiction spiral out of control.
