Search

Having sold books for nearly 130 years, we like to think that we can offer valued advice to help you locate the book you want. Our search panel is available on every page to be called upon at any time to provide a shortlist of items which match your requirements.

The drop-down categories within the main search panel on the "home" pages of each category allow you to precisely target the items of your search against title, author/composer, keyword, ISBN for Books, EANs for CDs. "Advanced search" offers an even greater number of items against which to match your criteria. We are also planning on continuously extending this functionality to meet our users' demands.

Jump

There is a handy little button above the search box that can get you straight to the most popular areas of the site. Just click on any area in the list and it will take you straight there.

Filter

Once your shortlist has been presented on the search results or sub category pages, our Filter options will allow you to further narrow down the list of suggestions. By clicking on the "Filter Button" you will be presented with a list of sub options available within your matching results. Any one of these links will refresh your listed results with a sub-set of items matching your chosen filter. By clicking on the minus button, you can remove a selected filter on your results.

My Categories

There are literally thousands of categories of items across Blackwell Online. To ensure that we only serve the items that are of interest to you, we have developed a facility called "My Categories". In the left hand navigation of every page, there is a link to "Add to my Categories". If you are logged-in, this will add this category to your profile which will then appear in the "My Categories" panel in the left hand navigation of your pages. Provided you are using the same computer and you have not deleted your cookies, this link will also appear when you are not logged-in and will provide you with a short cut back to that category whenever you come back to Blackwell Online.
