The epic story of the planet Arrakis, its Atreides rulers and their mortal enemies the Harkonnens is the finest, most widely acclaimed and enduring science fiction novel of this century. Huge in scope, towering in concept, it is a work that will live on in the reader's imagination.

'Unique among SF novels ... I know nothing comparable to it except The Lord of the Rings.' -- Arthur C. Clarke 'One of the landmarks of modern science fiction ... an amazing feat of creation.' -- Analog
There is no other book I have come across that I can go back to time and again and find fresh, exciting and intriguing every time. You never cease to find some new aspect or realisation that hadn't occurred to you before nor is it possible to find Herbert's writing anything short of outstanding.
Dune is directly responsible for my love of fantasy novels. Without this book, I never would have ventured into Robery Jordan's outstanding Wheel Of Time series nor Robin Hobb's wonderful novels.
I have been reading Frank Herbert's Dune over and again for the last fourteen years and shall continue to do so until my eyes fail me entirely. -
