This guide to genitourinary and HIV medicine provides a treatise of the presentation, diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted diseases. Emphasis is placed on the importance of understanding the mechansims underlying the transmission of these diseases, and how to minimize sequelae. Where complete recovery is not possible, the reader is given advice on the support and counselling of patients and their sexual partners.
