This book is a guide for anyone using qualitative data analysis software (QDAS), particularly useful for those who want to go beyond a basic introduction to discover how to get the most out of software and how to identify the methodological issues they need to consider. The book is organized in three parts - the first part addresses the methodological issues that need to be addressed when designing qualitative research using QDAS…
Designed to be used by as a textbook on CAQDAS (Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis) courses and training sessions, this book shows readers to organize, manage and analyze data from research projects so as to gain the benefits of software use. The authors start from the premise, (and this is endorsed by the readers) that qualitative research which is enhanced by using software such as NVIVO and NUD*IST needs to be approached differently from 'traditional' types of qualitative research. This book is not a guide to software packages, rather, it illustrates how electronic projects need to be articulated and organized. The book also used case studies and examples - divided in to 'Simple Cases', 'Complex Cases' and 'Compound Complex Cases' using material and evidence from the UK, the US and Australia.
