The twenty-five New York City high school seniors who are alone on earth have split into warring factions, and a few rebels are en route to California -- flying a stolen jetliner. Their destination: the source of mysterious e-mail messages. Not only are they not alone on the planet, but apparently the intelligence behind the e-mail is a little more than human. In fact, the teens realize the future of the human race may depend on their ability to negotiate a truce -- with an alien intelligence.
