June Goodfield, born in Stratford on Avon, is a highly successful writer whose career as a novelist began in1973 with crime thriller, Courier to Peking. This was published to wide acclaim. She writes with great insight and uses careful scientific research. She was a co-founder of International Health and Biomedicine (UK and USA) whose remit was to enhance public understanding of science through books, television and educational videos. She was its president from 1982 until 1998. She lives and works in Sussex and, at the age of nearly seventy-four, still travels extensively and continues to write with tireless energy.
