"Reading a story narrated by 'Death' might sound unrealistic and perhaps even cliched; this is anything but. Set in Nazi Germany and centred around the life of a young girl, this is a very moving novel about love between father and daughter, deep friendships across racial divides and the simultaneous destructive and uplifting power of words." Becky, Blackwell's Oxford

The Book Thief is my favorite book of all time because, even thought it is set in Nazi Germany, it is about a girl who loves to read, and I think reading is one of the most important things in the world. I think it is very well written, the plot twists are excellent and the ending shocked and saddened me, yet it is a beautifully written book, from a unique perspective. Truly, and amazing book, that should be read by all mature enough to handle it. - Sojourner McKenzieTruly amazing - this book blew me away. I was so absorbed by the beautiful writing, stark imagery, and deep characters. I was also horrified by the nazi aspects. I never wanted the book to end. Everyone MUST read this!! - Rachel Gibb Write a review
