This note covers: the incineration of chemical waste which can be solid, liquid or gaseous, and can include plastics, whether incinerated "in-house" or in a merchant chemical incinerator; the incineration of chemical waste, municipal waste, animal carcasses or sewage sludge on premises where there is plant designed to incinerate such waste at a rate of 1 tonne or more per hour; and the cleaning for reuse of metal containers used for the transport or storage of chemicals by burning out their residual content - Drum incineration.
