At the Start

Mary Phil Korsak (née Malone) was born and educated in England. Her love of English literature, especially poetry, blossomed in a home on the Derbyshire moors, where words were an endless source of fascination and books were a main source of entertainment.

She later studied at Paris and Oxford Universities (LMH, MA French).

After her marriage to Leonid Korsak, she taught for many years at the Institut Supérieur des Traducteurs et Interprètes in Brussels, where she trained future translators and interpreters.

She interrupted her teaching career to pursue theological studies and was privileged to study biblical exegesis under outstanding Jewish and Christian teachers.

She has addressed the Society of Biblical Literature at many of its International Meetings and played an active role in the European Society of Women in Theological Research.

Articles published in academic and other reviews incorporate what she readily calls her "heresies". These are accessible on a personal website: www.maryphilkorsak.com

Mary Phil is a member of the Society of Authors and the Translators Association. She and her husband live in Brussels.
