Sutton Scotney station was situated on the Didcot to Winchester railway line (the Great Western Railway) and closed along with the line in August 1964. This is a nostalgic look over the years (with photographs) at the characters that worked at the station and on the railway in the area as well as the incidents and events, forming a fascinating look at a way of life now part of history. One of the station porters and signalmen contributed anecdotes about the station from 1947 until 1964.
