This book reviews Dr. Nooksa faith, seeking understanding concerning the division that exists in many churches over the issue of women preachers. He is an advocate of women preachers. Dr. Nooks is a former pastor of First Baptist Church in Yellow Springs, Ohio. The division that resulted after three women preachers were licensed in First Baptist is reviewed. Battle lines were drawn, and many in the church left never to return. The major denominational focus of the book is the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. In that convention, many of the women are not considered for ministry. Several women preachers share their stories. The tension that exists over women preachers is not unique to the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. The scriptures and the culture associated with those scriptures are reviewed. The scarring effect of slavery upon the black community is also reviewed.
